Over nearly fifty years Max Dingle has worked in a number of art mediums, painting, sculpture, photography, screen printing and ceramics, because he feels that the expression of ideas should not be constrained by the ability to only express them in one particular medium.

His art explores themes of myths and stories with deep seams of emotional truth, sources of inspiration have included Greek myths that reach into the dark recesses of the heart and the psyche of people attempting to deny natural life-forces. Current inspiration is influenced by the art and the life and death of the Spanish poet and playwright Fredrico García Lorca, who at the age of 38, was assassinated by anti- republican rebels in August 1936 at the beginning of the Spanish civil war.

This survey exhibition includes examples of art works from ceramics in the 1970″s through screen prints and collage in the 1980’s to the paintings and sculpture being produced toda
